Managing members

Learn how to approve new members, manage roles and keep your organisation's membership accurate and secure.

Why member management matters

Your organisation's member list controls who can access private areas of PipeBandHQ. Keeping it accurate helps protect your organisation's information, music and documents.

Only approve people you recognise

If you are unsure who submitted a membership request, confirm their identity before approving access.

Step 1

Review membership requests

Check new requests carefully before approving access to your organisation.

Step 2

Approve the correct members

Approve genuine members so they can access the areas available to their membership.

Step 3

Assign roles and permissions

Give committee members only the permissions they need for the responsibilities they manage.

Step 4

Keep your member list up to date

Remove or update members when they leave, change roles or move between bands.

Managing committee permissions

Committee members do not all need the same level of access. PipeBandHQ allows administrators to give people access only to the areas they are responsible for.

Standard members

Members can use the normal member-facing areas available to their band.

Committee members

Committee members can be given specific management permissions without receiving full administrator access.

What happens when someone leaves the band?

When someone is no longer a member of your organisation, their membership should be removed or updated so they no longer have access to your organisation's private content.

Their PipeBandHQ account remains theirs

Removing someone from your organisation does not delete their personal PipeBandHQ account. They can still use that account to join another organisation.
