Managing rehearsals

Learn how to create rehearsals, organise different practice groups and schedule recurring practices across your organisation.

Use the correct rehearsal scope

If a practice only applies to one band or one section, select the correct scope so only the relevant members see it.

Create the rehearsal

Add the rehearsal date, times, location and any notes members need before attending.

Decide whether the rehearsal is for one band, selected bands or the wider organisation.

Choose the practice group

Set whether the rehearsal is for the whole band, pipe corps, drum corps, snare corps or tenor corps.

Step 4

Set a recurring schedule if needed

For regular practices, create weekly, fortnightly or monthly rehearsals instead of adding every date individually.

Practice groups

PipeBandHQ lets you identify which part of the band the rehearsal is intended for.

Whole band

Use this for full band practices where all relevant members should attend.

Pipe corps

Use this for practices intended specifically for pipers.

Drum corps

Use this for rehearsals involving the wider drum corps.

Snare or tenor corps

Use the dedicated practice group when only one section of the drum corps is required.

Recurring rehearsals

If your band rehearses regularly, you can create a recurring series rather than adding every practice separately.

Weekly

Repeat the rehearsal every seven days.

Fortnightly

Repeat the rehearsal every two weeks.

Monthly

Repeat the rehearsal on a monthly schedule.

Set an end date

When creating a recurring rehearsal, choose when the series should stop so unnecessary future rehearsals are not created.
